Van/MPV home maintenance Tips

Published on by thepandacover

Good and right van maintenance will help you to retain van/MPV value and make your van last longer. Except some necessary van maintenance which can only be done by auto shop, some simple home maintenance you can do to protect your van/MPV from losing money. These home van maintenances also keep your van or MPV running smoothly.

Regular van maintenance contains five respects:

First, check van windscreen. Do make sure your windscreen wash isn't empty and refill if so. All you have to do is buy the wash and mix it with water!

Second, check oil level. Do make sure your oil level is ok. Simply remove the dipstick, clean it, reinsert it and check again. You should see clean and dark oil on the dipstick. If the oil looks black, sludgy or has white froth then call a garage! If your oil level looks normal but is low simply poor in the oil and check again.

Third, check coolant. The coolant is in a translucent box in your engine. Look and see what the level is and if it's low pop some coolant in.

Forth, check tyre pressure and tyre tread depth. This step will keep your van in top safety condition, and help you to save money on repairing unexpected damages on tyre. Low tyre pressure causes vans or trucks to guzzle petrol so checking could save you money. The tyre tread depth legally must be at least 1.6mm and you will fail your MOT if this isn't correct.

Fifth, cover your van by quality van covers if you always park your van outdoor. Quality van covers/ MPV covers will keep your van/MPV from dust, rain, rust problem, scratch, and so on.
